xx Playtesting
June 20, 2009, 06:59:07 PM by Flash

Warhawk is now very much nearing completion (at last Smiley )

We are now pretty much done with the code, but have decided to give it a couple of weeks worth of playtesting to make sure all is as it should be...

In the meantime, I have just been adding "Cannon fodder" to the mental levels (unlocked after the first 16 are completed) I have edited levels 1-16 already and have now decided that the levels should be a "little" different, so I have gone back and modded them slighty (1-7 so far) to add new waves and change the existing ones slghtly (Levels 17+ are the original levels "almost" with tweaks)

So, not long now!

xx Warhawk Progress
April 29, 2009, 11:47:16 PM by Flash
Thanks to HK's diligent work, we believe that all major bugs in Warhawk have been squelched.

So, it is all about me finishing the attack waves (half way there) and us/HK giving it a good polish!

Who knows how long this will take, but it is getting a lot closer to release!

From HeadKaze:

Yes we've both been pretty keen to get the code bug free and Flash and I squashed two big ones recently and although it's hard to have totally bug free code (especially in asm) we are pretty sure there will be no "show stopping" bugs in the final release.

While I'm polishing things off in the game code and adding some of the final features (sorry too top secret to mention!) Flash is doing an amazing job of the attack wave system (using my custom written WANK app). To give you an idea of the work involved each level takes around 6-8 hours to create! The most important part of Warhawk is it's gameplay so it's important to get the gameplay and ballance right because we want Warhawk DS to have lots of replay value.

I'll have to admit I'm not a big SHMUP fan but I do enjoy playing Warhawk DS (and for fun too not just testing) and I can say the gameplay and ballance is well tweaked. I find I often finish levels by the skin of my teeth so it's a testimate to the time Flash is putting into them.

We are closer to release but please be patient as it will be done and dusted soon enough! Smiley

xx Warhawk DS
February 25, 2009, 04:58:10 PM by Flash

I just did a search on "google" for Warhawk DS, and was pleased to see so many articles about it! But... Some comment that this is a release version (or they are hosting one), sadly, a full release of "Warhawk DS" is a way off at the moment and a lot of work is yet to be done.
HK and I like to release playable versions from time to time, to show some of the features and that it is very much an active project, and we will continue to do so!

We also have Lobo working on some of the graphics at the moment, so this really should help improve the visual quality Smiley

Hope that clears that up (especially if you landed here from another site)
